Kona Bay Hawaii, specializing in made-in-Hawaii aloha shirts, is now selling products in collaboration with Wa-Denim.
The origin of the aloha shirt is Kimono.
It is said that the model of the aloha shirt was created when Japanese immigrants to Hawaii around 19th centuries re-tailored Kimono they brought with them into open-necked shirts to copy the local dress.
Based on this connection between Kimono and aloha shirts, we have produced Wa-Denim Aloha Edition, in which the Kimono fabric used for Wa-Denim is changed to aloha shirt fabric, and is available at Kona Bay Hawaii from November 28, 2023.
The model for sale is "WA331SD_ALOHA Edition" which features the belt loop and silk patch of WA331SD model in a Japanese design called "NIHON," an aloha shirt fabric. The price is 250 US dollars.
This model is not scheduled to be sold in Japan and will be available only in Hawaii. If you live in Honolulu or plan to visit Honolulu, please visit Kona Bay Hawaii.
*Sales will end when stock runs out.
